Strategic Planning 🚧 Central Vermont Habitat for Humanity

This past Saturday, Central Vermont Habitat for Humanity board members, volunteers, and staff came together for a day of planning and collaboration as we began developing our five-year strategic plan.

With expert facilitation from Sarah Henshaw of Leaves of Change, we created a strong and exciting strategic framework that will help guide our work in the years ahead. Over the coming months, we’ll continue refining this plan as we build a vision for expanding our impact and serving more families across Central Vermont.

A special thank you to Stone & Browning Property Management for generously donating meeting space for this important work. We are grateful for your support and partnership!

Big thanks to our first volunteer group at the Northfield project! 🎉

The team from Keller Williams Realty rolled up their sleeves to help insulate an attic partition and install ventilation chutes beneath the roof eaves. This important work will help improve the home’s energy efficiency and ventilation for years to come.

We’re grateful for your hard work, teamwork, and community spirit. Thank you for volunteering with us!

MAJOR GREENSBORO UPDATE 🌲🏡 SPRING 2026

It was a year ago on April 28 that we broke ground on the duplex home at 1119 Main Street in Greensboro Bend. Thanks to our generous donors, hard working volunteers, skilled site supervisors, experienced sub-contractors, and students from the Green Mountain Technical and Career Center in Hyde Park, the homes will be complete and move-in ready by July 1. We are planning a BIG celebration, so stay tuned for details.

In the meantime, interior painting and finishing continues. Appliances have arrived, kitchen cabinets and countertops are in, bathroom tile is being installed, window blinds will be hung, stairs and stair railings are complete, gutters and downspouts are ordered, and vinyl flooring and baseboards will be installed with the help of Youth Build beginning May 5.

Thanks to the cost-conscious oversight of Site Supervisor Bill Hardy assisted by John Mackin, our diligent accounting team of Tim Brennan and Anastasia Scollon, and the gentle guidance of Steering Committee Chair, Kent Hansen, the project continues to be on time and on budget.

⭐ We are once again in need of volunteer workers on site.

Volunteers are needed to paint doors and trim, touch up walls, and prep for flooring installation. The work dates are April 20, 21, 23 and 24, with two shifts per day (9am—1pm and 2pm—4pm), but you are welcome to work whatever hours are best for you. We will need volunteers to paint on April 22. For those of you longer term planners, we will be in need of volunteers beginning in late May for landscaping and other outside work.
