🚧 TRAFFIC ADVISORY – JUNETEENTH PARADE & SUNDAY OBSERVER EVENT & CONCERT 🚧
The City of Washington Police Department would like to advise residents and visitors of upcoming traffic restrictions associated with the Juneteenth Parade on Saturday, June 13 and the Sunday Observer Event on Sunday, June 14.
📍 PARKING RESTRICTIONS
Parking meters on Main Street will be bagged and parking will be prohibited on both sides of Main Street from Chestnut Street to Maiden Street.
🗓 SATURDAY, JUNE 13 – JUNETEENTH PARADE
⏰ Approximately 8:30 AM
The following roadways will be closed:
• N. Main Street at Walnut Street (southbound traffic only)
• Chestnut Street from just past Community Bank to just past the Transit/Bus Center (both directions)
• Beau Street at Main Street (no northbound traffic on Main Street)
⏰ 9:00 AM
Parade participant lineup begins.
⏰ 9:45 AM
The parade route along Main Street from Chestnut Street to Maiden Street will be closed to all traffic.
❌ No cross traffic will be permitted at Wheeling Street or Beau Street during the parade.
⏰ 10:00 AM
The Juneteenth Parade begins.
⏰ Approximately 11:00 AM
The parade concludes and traffic restrictions will begin to be lifted.
⏰ Approximately 9:00 PM
Main Street from Wheeling Street to Maiden Street will reopen to all traffic.
🗓 SUNDAY, JUNE 14 – SUNDAY OBSERVER EVENT & CONCERT
⏰ Approximately 11:00 AM
Main Street from Wheeling Street to Maiden Street will be closed to all traffic for the event.
⏰ Approximately 3:00 PM
Event/Concert will begin.
⏰ 9:00 PM
Main Street from Wheeling Street to Maiden Street will reopen to all traffic.
Motorists are encouraged to plan alternate routes, allow additional travel time, and obey all posted signs and directions from law enforcement officers.
