“I don’t want to be seen as a victim—I want to be seen as a warrior.”
The stories young people see—and the ones we choose to uplift—shape how they see themselves. This Foster Care Awareness Month, Foster America is proud to support Center for Scholars and Storytellers and YouTube Kids’ Foster Care Playlist, featuring authentic, strengths-based stories from young people and role models with connections to foster care.
We’re especially proud that Lexi Jones, a Foster America Technology Leadership Fellow whom we connected to this opportunity, is featured in the playlist. A youth advocate, lived expert, mother, and entrepreneur in Denver, Lexi shares that her goal is “to help make change” and “give a voice to youth that don’t have one.”
Lexi joins a powerful group of athletes, advocates, creators, and young leaders who are sharing their stories, giving back, and helping young people see themselves reflected with strength, possibility, and pride.
Take a moment to watch—and consider sharing it with your networks to help amplify these powerful stories.
