The Call of the Alevi People to Humanity
Today, we Alevi people appeal to the conscience of the world. We call for the dignity of our women not to be trampled upon, for our daughters not to be abducted, for our little children not to be killed again, and for our people never again to face the dark shadow of genocide. The time has come for us to establish our own state.
In the village of Salhat, our daughter Revan Mahfud was r***d in broad daylight. The atrocity that Revan endured is not an isolated incident. Hundreds of Alevi women have faced the same fate—abduction, assault, and violence. What is even more painful is that, while these atrocities continue, Syrian society remains silent, and through its silence, it condones these crimes. Silence is complicity.
The new government in power today is a barbaric and terrorist regime that tramples on human values. Instead of protecting its people, it has targeted our women, our children, and our entire community with its own hands. It is no longer possible for us to live under such a government or within this society.
Every nation has the fundamental right to security and freedom. These rights have been taken from us time and again. Our children have been killed before our eyes, our women have been subjected to inhuman assaults, and our families have been torn apart. These wounds have not healed; the same threats remain before us today.
We Alevi people do not seek hostility, we seek peace. We do not seek revenge, we seek justice. And yes, we seek separation. Because we no longer share any common bond with this society. For our identity, our security, and our future, the Alevi people must establish their own state.
Therefore, we call upon all the nations of the world: the obstacles to the Alevi people’s right to establish their own state must be removed.
Only then can our children grow up in safety, our women live with dignity, and our people no longer be forced to live under the shadow of genocide. This process must proceed through peaceful means, on the basis of human rights and justice.
The Alevi people will take their rightful and honorable place on the world stage.
