Maybe a repeat of the previous posts, but this article is another evidence for how gut infection is related to Parkinson's like pathology. In other words, dopaminergic neurons are damaged (or die) due to accumulation of toxic elements in the gut years before affecting the brain.
We need new biomarkers or treatments at this primary stage to prevent neuronal damage.

A new study by Montreal scientists published today in Nature demonstrates that a gut infection can lead to a pathology resembling Parkinson's disease (PD) in a mouse model lacking a gene linked to the human disease.
