Our casework team is here to support our neighbors on a wide variety of issues – everything from Social Security and IRS to passport support to make a family trip possible! 🛳️ When Barbara faced setbacks with her passport application process, our team stepped in and was able to resolve her case within a week so she could enjoy her well-deserved vacation! No matter the issue, you can always call (410) 832-8890 to speak to a member of or check out the link below for more information on casework assistance from our team.

Every 11 minutes, someone in our country tragically loses their life to su***de. Su***de Prevention Month not only helps raise awareness about the very real impacts of mental health but also reminds us that we must continue the fight to protect and expand life-saving crisis support services. I’ve fought to defend the 988 Su***de and Crisis Lifeline and the many critical federal resources that save countless lives in our most vulnerable communities.

Did you know that the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra performs two free concerts over Labor Day weekend for over 7,000 of our neighbors? Yesterday I joined the ASO, Delegate Mark Chang, and Allison M. Pickard to kick off the season at Downs Park - the perfect celebration of the power of art in public places and my favorite collaboration with Anne Arundel County Department of Recreation and Parks.

If you missed yesterday’s concert, you can catch tonight’s at Quiet Waters.

The Congressional Award is the highest achievement Congress can present to our young people to recognize outstanding service, initiative, and achievement to their communities. 🏅 Earlier this week, I presented Ishaan from Ellicott City with the Congressional Gold Medal to celebrate 400+ hours of service, including through his nonprofit House4Sprouts, which he founded to help farmers connect and share resources globally. Please join me in congratulating Ishaan and his family!

Congress is officially back in Washington after our August District Work Period – which means we’re back with the tram series! Here’s a quick breakdown of the good, the bad, and everything we worked on this week.

On National Food Bank Day, we recognize the critical role food banks play in helping our most vulnerable neighbors. As we face skyrocketing grocery prices and the largest cut to SNAP in our nation’s history from the Big Ugly Law, supporting our local food banks is all the more important. Whether it’s fighting cuts to USDA programs that support food banks or volunteering at our local food banks with my incredible team, I’m proud to support the pillars of our communities that help our neighbors on their hardest days.

Across Maryland, enrollment in schools has dropped because many families are too afraid to send their children to school with the Trump Administration’s rampant weaponization of ICE. Schools, churches, hospitals, and courts must be safe spaces for all of our neighbors. Now that we’re back in Washington, House Democrats will continue pushing for commonsense reforms to end this weaponization of ICE and place a check on this Administration.

Thank you to the more than 5,000 neighbors who joined last night’s telephone town hall! This was our 29th town hall since taking office, and it’s always a highlight hearing directly from our neighbors on what issues matter to most. We covered everything from updates on the Iran war to election integrity, public land protections, and more.

If you weren’t able to join us, we have more events on deck – including an Anne Arundel Constituent Resource Fair happening next Thursday, September 10th at 5:30 PM. You can check out the link below to save your spot.
