We thank Congresswoman Lateefah Simon for cosponsoring key legislation advancing Armenian American priorities: H.R. 5369, the Azerbaijan Sanctions Review Act, and H.R. 2585, the Armenian Genocide Education Act.

Assembly Western Region Director David Ojakian recently met with Rep. Simon's district office staff alongside community members to discuss these priorities.

We thank Congresswoman Lateefah Simon (D-CA) for cosponsoring H.R. 6840, the Armenia Security Partnership Act.

The bill requires Azerbaijan to withdraw from Armenian territory, release all Armenian hostages, end hostilities, protect cultural heritage, and recognize the right of return to Nagorno-Karabakh. It also bars any waiver of Section 907—ensuring U.S. funds cannot enable Azerbaijani aggression.

"Turkey blusters — but it folds when others recognize genocide."

At a Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission hearing on democracy and human rights in Turkey, Middle East Forum Policy Director Dr. Michael Rubin warned that genocidal ideologies persist when the international community fails to reject them.

He also called on the United States to install a plaque at Sheridan Circle, commemorating the 2017 attack on peaceful Armenian American protesters by Erdogan’s security forces on U.S. soil.

Watch his urgent call for accountability.

🚨TAKE ACTION: FREE ARMENIAN HOSTAGES HELD IN BAKU

This week, the White House announced the nomination of a new U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan.

As the nomination moves through the Senate confirmation process, Senators have an important opportunity to raise critical issues affecting peace and stability in the South Caucasus.

Take action now and urge your Senators to ask the nominee what steps he will take to secure the release of Armenian hostages, protect Armenian Christian and cultural heritage following the 2023 ethnic cleansing of Nagorno-Karabakh, and stand up against the genocidal policies of the Aliyev regime.
