In the past six months since Donald Trump started his illegal war in Iran, 120 children died after a U.S military strike hit their school, 18 American servicemembers have been killed, Americans have endured record high gas costs, and Donald Trump and his sons have profited endlessly from investing in defense tech companies that received government contracts.

Neither Trump nor Pete Hegseth have achieved an objective in this war. Servicemembers, children and innocent civilians have died for no reason. This war must end and Pete Hegseth must be impeached.

The Trump “kids” are grown adults and they’ve made billions through their dad’s presidency. They must come before Congress, testify under oath, and answer for their financial self-dealing and any role they played in securing special treatment for the Tate brothers. No one is above accountability.

The very small part my team and I played in today’s news is one of the most moving changes I’ve been humbled to be a part of in my entire career in public service; I am relieved, elated, hopeful, and moved by the kindness of the human spirit and the courage of Artemis. But none of this should have happened in the first place. Artemis was denied the due process afforded to asylum seekers by law, and returning to the Islamic Republic of Iran would have meant immediate, and likely deadly, danger for her, both as a woman and a Christian convert. My hope is that Artemis’ story, and our legislation, helps ensure that the nightmare she endured never happens to anyone else.
