I appreciate the opportunity to extend my thanks to the amazing men and women working in Public Safety Communications Centers.
The week of April 14-20 is National Public Safety Telecommunications Week. A time where the nation takes the opportunity to recognize Public Safety Communications personnel.
When citizens are faced with an emergency situation and need Police, Fire or EMS help, they call the professional men and women working in a 9-1-1 Center. The 9-1-1, dispatch and supervisory personnel on the other end of the phone are there to provide critical assistance to those in need. These 9-1-1 personnel are often the first point of contact during an emergency; responding quickly to assess the situation and determine the necessary public safety response.
As first, first responders, 9-1-1 call takers are the first to offer assistance and the first to provide support, comfort, or sympathy to citizens in distress.
America's Public Safety Communications 9-1-1 personnel are invisible heroes that save lives every day. They are highly trained, dedicated and trusted public servants.
Thank you for your amazing dedication to public service. Thank you for your commitment to saving lives, protecting property, assisting the public in their time of need, and ensuring the safety of partner first responders through prompt, impartial, and professional call taking, dispatch and support services.
