Did you know this year’s U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree was harvested in Idaho?

I recently had the opportunity to visit the tree alongside the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forest team and learn more about the care and selection process behind this stunning 76-foot tree.

I’m grateful to see Idaho’s natural beauty on display in our nation’s capital. Be on the lookout as the tree tours communities across Idaho on its journey to the U.S. Capitol!

Last week, I had the pleasure of visiting Marge and Harty at their business, Hearthstone Bakery, in Kamiah, Idaho.

Over a wonderful meal, I enjoyed hearing the story behind their success and learning more about the hard work and dedication that have gone into building their business. At 85 years old, Marge and Harty continue to serve their community and provide jobs for 30 employees through their business ventures.

Marge and Harty embody the strong work ethic and community spirit that make Idaho so special!

I am proud to announce that I have joined the Hydropower Caucus.

Hydropower is not only an important source of reliable, clean energy for our country, but also an important economic driver for Idaho, with 76 operating hydroelectric plants across our state.

I look forward to working with my colleagues in the caucus to prioritize lower energy costs, expand economic opportunities, and support reliable, clean energy production.

Happy National Farmers Day!

Today, we recognize and thank our farmers and ranchers for their hard work and long hours year-round that put food on our tables.

Idaho is home to 25,000 farms and ranches and ranks among the top 10 states in the nation for the production of more than 25 crops and livestock products. Idaho’s farmers and ranchers are an important part of what makes our state strong.

Three years ago today, Hamas terrorists conducted a horrific attack on civilians in Israel. More than 1,200 women, children, and men were tortured and killed, including 12 Americans.

Today, we prayerfully remember those who lost their lives. We are grateful for those who survived, and we dedicate efforts to prevent this type of heinous attack from ever happening again.

Recently, the House passed H.R. 10326, the PROOF Act.

This legislation will strengthen federal-state cooperation to prevent fraud in high-dollar federal programs and allow agencies to collaborate in investigations and prosecutions.

The bill holds agencies accountable by requiring annual reports to Congress. It requires strict privacy and data-security safeguards and limits how federal agencies can use the information.

The SAVE Act remains a top priority for Idahoans and Americans across the country.

The Department of Justice recently charged 16 individuals in connection with illegal voting and related election crimes. One of those individuals was located in Idaho and allegedly voted in the May 2022 and November 2024 elections.

We cannot allow the integrity of our elections to be undermined. I have co-sponsored the SAVE Act and the Save America Act, which have both passed the House. Now, it’s time for the Senate to act and support these critical election safeguards.
