Afrocod - The African Community Development Network Incorporated

Afrocod - The African Community Development Network Incorporated Currently, the organization has its operations in the East African communities of Tanzania but it also seeks to expand its work to other parts of Africa.

AFROCOD is a not-for-profit organization that promotes, facilitates and supports grass-roots participation in socioeconomic development in undeserved-communities in Africa. The organization's duties include the challenge of working to promote quality primary and secondary education for young boys and girls by providing them with educational supplies and financial assistance to meet their education

al needs; conducting educational and advocacy campaigns aimed to promote better health practices in the fight against HIV/AIDS, malaria, cholera, tuberculosis etc.; to promote the sustainable use of land and soil conservation and to spearhead efforts to improve degradable land areas that suffer due to soil erosion, deforestation and so forth; factors which all can deeply affect rural African communities whose livelihoods mostly depend on natural resources. AFROCOD is also dedicated to assisting African communities in their efforts to increase their access to clean water by working in collaboration with other stakeholders to build water pumps and wells in areas with limited water supply. In addition, the organization promotes active participation of local communities on matters of good governance, accountability, transparency and fairness by partnering with other groups that are involved in the media, government agencies, other civil society organizations, international agencies, the private sector and individuals. We believe in the concept of human security and in the empowerment of individuals from the community level in making sure that they are able to take control of their own destinies, especially in those communities where misery is perpetuated by the cycle of poverty and helplessness.
