Medical Cannabis / Marijuana Decriminalization Lobbyist Group to Reclassify & Decriminalize Medical Cannabis Other Schedule 1 drugs include he**in, L*D and P*P.

Currently Under present law, all varieties of Cannabis, also known as Ma*****na, is classified under federal law as a Schedule 1 controlled substance, defined as a drug with a high potential for abuse, no accepted medical use in the U.S., and unsafe for use even under medical supervision. Under federal law Schedule 2 drugs -- still considered to have high abuse potential but with accepted medical

uses and considered safe for use under medical supervision -- include co***ne, morphine and methamphetamine. That's right, federal law currently classifies Cannabis as more dangerous than methamphetamine. The 'Ending Federal Ma*****na Prohibition Act' seeks to federally deregulate the personal possession and use of ma*****na by adults. It marks the first time that members of Congress have introduced legislation to eliminate the federal criminalization of ma*****na since the passage of the Ma*****na Tax Act of 1937. Language in the act mimics changes enacted by Congress to repeal the federal prohibition of alcohol. Passage of this measure would remove the existing conflict between federal law and the laws of those sixteen states that allow for the limited use of ma*****na under a physicians' supervision. It would also allow state governments that wish to fully legalize and regulate the responsible use, possession, production, and distribution of ma*****na for all adults to be free to do so without federal interference. The federal criminalization of ma*****na has failed to reduce the public's demand or access to cannabis, and it has imposed enormous fiscal and human costs upon the American people. It is time to end this failed public policy and to provide state governments with the freedom to enact alternative strategies -- such as medicalization, decriminalization, and/or legalization -- without running afoul of the federal law. By joining forces with Lobbyist groups, others to support the passage of H.R. 2306, entitled the 'Ending Federal Ma*****na Prohibition Act of 2011. No longer will the weak, sick, and terminally ill continue to suffer at the hands of our great nation turning a blind eye... NO MORE!!!
