This week, I joined the Hyundai Hope on Wheels Congressional Exhibit honoring Dr. Chintan Parekh and City of Hope with the Scholar Hope Grant. I congratulated Dr. Parekh for his achievement and thanked him for his inspiring work to end childhood cancer. You make CA-31 proud!

I’ve been asking for transparency from this Department all year and I still haven’t received it. When I last questioned Under Secretary Colby about the non-concurs to the Global Force Management Map, he refused to respond. It’s time for the Department’s failed leadership to finally answer for their short-sighted actions.

Today, House Republicans put forth a resolution asking members to denounce socialism while also supporting voter suppression. While I stand firmly against socialism, I would never support any resolution that takes away your sacred right to vote. I will continue to fight for the right of every American to have a voice in our democracy.

This annual recognition honors exceptional Americans who served our country in the military and continue to contribute to our district with exceptional community service.
