🚨Amazing news for our wildland firefighters!

Now Congress should pass my bipartisan Wildland Firefighter Hazard Pay Correction Act and codify this into law.

Proud to be working together with Rep. Celeste Maloy and National Federation of Federal Employees (NFFE) to get this bill to the President's desk, ASAP.

The rule was proposed after the NFFE legal team and Forest Service Council (NFFE-FSC) approached OPM about providing hazard pay for prescribed fire activities, originally in 2022.

Thank you to our local VFW Post 12101 for having me and for voicing your concerns over the Take Care of America’s Veterans Act, which would be the largest cut to veterans’ benefits in history. 

I’ll continue fighting against cuts to our veterans’ benefits and work to pass the Major Richard Star Act, which restores veterans’ military retirement.

Today, our community laid Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Officer Austin Abdelnabi to rest after he was killed in the line of duty.

Officer Abdelnabi gave his life to keep our community safe. My heart goes out to his fellow officers, friends, and family during this incredibly difficult time. May he rest in peace.

Austin Abdelnabi, 30, was identified as the LVMPD officer who was shot and killed in the area of Mountain Vista Street and Hacienda Avenue.
