‘Getting this work done legislatively is a much more difficult lift,’ said Paul Armentano, deputy director of the ma*****na advocacy group NORML. ‘Many legislators still treat this issue as if it’s a fringe issue rather than a bipartisan mainstream cause.’”

Concerns about the public health implications of ma*****na legalization remain potent as the battle to overhaul drug laws moves to red states.
