Mirëpresim seancën e sotme dëgjimore në Kongresin e Shteteve të Bashkuara mbi politikën dhe sfidat e sigurisë në Ballkanin Perëndimor, si dhe vëmendjen e vazhdueshme bipartizane ndaj rajonit.

Vlerësojmë mesazhet e fuqishme në mbështetje të sovranitetit dhe integritetit territorial të Kosovës, rolit të saj si partnere demokratike dhe strategjike e Shteteve të Bashkuara, si dhe të ardhmes së saj euroatlantike.

Falënderojmë Kongresistin Keith Self, anëtarin kryesor të pakicës William Keating dhe gjithë anëtarët tjerë të Nënkomisionit për bashkëpunimin dhe angazhimin e tyre, përfshirë thirrjen për njohjen e Kosovës nga të gjitha shtetet anëtare të NATO-s, si dhe theksimin e perspektivës së saj në NATO dhe rëndësisë së vazhdimit të pranisë amerikane në KFOR.

Kosova mbetet partnere e palëkundur e Shteteve të Bashkuara, e përkushtuar ndaj paqes, demokracisë dhe sigurisë së qëndrueshme në Ballkanin Perëndimor.

Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosova, Albin Kurti:

“The alliance and partnership with the United States is unique and unwavering, and we will continue to strengthen it on the basis of our shared values and common strategic orientation.

Today, I welcomed the delegation of the Atlantic Council’s 2026 Balkans Forward Fellows, with whom we discussed our deepening partnership in the areas of the economy, security, and defense.

During the previous term, we invested nearly half a billion euros in weapons systems alone, reaching an unprecedented level of defense cooperation. The majority of these procurements were carried out through the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) and Direct Commercial Sales (DCS) programs.

The Government and the Assembly have also approved the deployment of a contingent of the Kosova Security Force (KSF) as part of the international stabilization force in Gaza.

During the meeting, I also raised the issue of the discovery of mass graves in Zubin Potok and once again called on our international partners to exert greater pressure on Serbia to declassify archived military files and provide information related to these grave sites.”

Tridhjetë e gjashtë vjet më parë, më 7 shtator 1990, delegatët e Kosovës u mblodhën në Kaçanik dhe shpallën Kushtetutën e Republikës së Kosovës.

Vendimi i tyre ishte një akt guximi, përgjegjësie qytetare dhe bindjeje demokratike, një shprehje e fuqishme e vullnetit të popullit të Kosovës për të jetuar në liri dhe pavarësi.

Sot, nderojmë delegatët e Kaçanikut dhe kujtojmë me respekt të thellë guximin dhe kontributin e tyre historik në rrugëtimin e Kosovës drejt shtetësisë.

Thirty-six years ago, on 7 September 1990, Kosova’s delegates gathered in Kaçanik and proclaimed the Constitution of the Republic of Kosova.

Their decision was an act of courage, civic responsibility, and democratic conviction, a powerful expression of the will of the people of Kosova to live in freedom and independence.

Today, we honor the delegates of Kaçanik and remember with profound respect their courage and historic contribution to Kosova’s path toward statehood.

Sot shënojmë Ditën Ndërkombëtare për Përkujtimin e Viktimave të Zhdukur me Dhunë.

Për familjet e më shumë se 1,500 personave që ende figurojnë si të pagjetur, më shumë se dy dekada që nga përfundimi i luftës nuk e kanë lehtësuar dhimbjen dhe as nuk i kanë dhënë fund pritjes së mundimshme për të vërtetën. Serbia mban përgjegjësi të qartë për të bërë publike të gjitha informacionet që disponon dhe për të ndërmarrë hapa konkretë për të zbardhur fatin dhe vendndodhjen e personave të pagjetur.

Kosova mbetet e palëkundur në përkushtimin e saj për zbardhjen e fatit të secilit person të zhdukur. E vërteta duhet të dalë në dritë. Përgjegjësia dhe drejtësia duhet të vendosen. Dhe e drejta e familjeve për të ditur fatin e më të dashurve të tyre duhet të respektohet.

Today, we mark the International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearances.

For the families of more than 1,500 people who remain unaccounted for, more than two decades have done nothing to ease their pain or end the agonizing wait for answers about the fate of their loved ones. Serbia bears a clear responsibility to provide all information in its possession and to take concrete steps to establish the fate and whereabouts of those who remain missing.

Kosova remains unwavering in its commitment to determining the fate of every missing person. The truth must come to light. Accountability and justice must prevail. And the families’ right to know the fate of their loved ones must be respected.
