re-opened on August 17, 2011 under the banner of Libya’s Transitional National Council. The Embassy is located in the Washington landmark building, The Watergate. Ali Suleiman Aujali presented his credentials to President Obama on September 9, 2011, reinstating him as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Libya to the United States of America. He had resigned from serving Libya’s old reg

ime in this same capacity on February 21, 2011, in protest of Qaddafi’s killings of Libyan citizens participating in peaceful demonstrations. He became Ambassador of Libya to the United States in January 2009 following four years of service as Charge d’Affaires of the People’s Bureau of the Great Socialist People’s Libyan Arab Jamahiriya in Washington, D.C. He previously served as Charge d’ Affaires of the People’s Bureau in Ottawa, Canada from 2001 to 2004. Ambassador Aujali has served his country since 1971, when he worked as Third Secretary at the Libyan Embassy in London. In 1976, he moved to the Libyan Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where he served as First Secretary until he was appointed Ambassador in 1981. He served as Libya’s Ambassador to Brazil from 1988
through 1994. While serving in Canada as Charge d’ Affaires Ambassador Aujali founded the Libya/Canada Business Council. When not on diplomatic assignments outside Libya, Ambassador Aujali held a variety of positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tripoli including Deputy Director General of the Americas Department (1994-1998), Director General of the North and South Americas Department (1998-2000) and Director General of European Affairs (2000-2001). In his capacity as a representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Aujali actively participated in a number of United Nations General Assembly sessions, led Libyan delegations to the Forum for Dialogue in the Western Mediterranean (also known as the 5+5 Dialogue), chaired sessions of the Joint Libyan Swedish Committee, and participated in several summits of the Non-Aligned Movement. Born on October 10, 1944, Ambassador Aujali received his B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Benghazi.

إعلان للطلبة

يقوم السادة أعضاء المؤتمر الوطني العام:
ـ علي الرفاعي الزوبي.
ـ عبد المنعم ف*ج الوحيشي.
ـ أمينة محمد بشير المغيربي.
بزيارة الولايات المتحدة خلال هذه الأيام، وسيكون ضمن برنامج أعضاء المؤتمر اللقاء ببعض الطلبة الدارسين بالولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، وذلك للتعرف على الصعوبات والمشاكل التي تواجههم.

عليه تأمل السفارة من الطلبة الراغبين في حضور هذا اللقاء تسجيل أسمائهم على الرابط الموجود أدناه .

وسيتم ترتيب لقاءات للوفد مع الطلبة في بعض الولايات وفق الجدول الأتي:
