I joined MS NOW to discuss how I’m fighting back against Trump weaponizing the IRS to punish any non-governmental organization that is not as compliant as the sorry Republican Congress. I have filed the PROOF Act to ensure due process safeguards.

Trump has also proposed a new rule, threatening the tax exempt status of private colleges and schools to ensure they do nothing to advance opportunities for minorities. His racism knows no bounds.

Bright and early tomorrow, Sunday at 7:15 AM CT I will be joining to discuss the Trump regime’s weaponization of the IRS. This week, the same day I introduced legislation to safeguard schools and nonprofits from this abuse, Trump moved to target as many as 18,000 schools over programs that support students of color.

Yet another outrageous narrow-minded Greg Abbott proposal to weaken our public schools—banning foreign teachers. As Marble Falls exemplifies in this short video interivew, these teachers fill vital roles. The real threat to Texas public school students is not foreign; it’s Greg Abbott.

Under Abbott’s failed administration, Texans seeking access to a family physician and SNAP food assistance are waiting months before a single person looks at their applications. Backlogs skyrocketed in just 8 months, with over 200,000 pregnant women, young children, and disabled neighbors now being deprived health care.

Data shared by the state during stakeholder meetings reveals Texas' backlog of Medicaid applications grew by more than 209,000 between January and August – while the backlog for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP, grew by more than 146,000.

Voiced strong concern today about Trump's backroom critical minerals deals as a pathway filled with corruption and disregard for environmental exploitation. No surprise that he could care less about dangerous mining conditions abroad, when he cares so little about what happens at home.

This week he rejected the many Americans concerned with the potential harmful impact of data centers on air, water, and electric rates by insisting “let data reign.” As usual, Congressional GOP refuse to differ from Trump on data centers, corrupt minerals deals, or most anything else.

Trump’s minions from the Department of Government Evisceration express zero regret for the damage caused while admitting they did not achieve any of the promised taxpayer savings. Over 300,000 workers lost their jobs thanks to Trump. Their callous and revealing interview:

Attorney: "You don't regret that people might have lost important income ... to support their lives?"

DOGE staffer: "No. I think it was more important to reduce the federal deficit from $2 trillion to close to zero.”

Attorney: “Did you reduce the federal deficit?”

DOGE staffer: “No, we didn’t.”

Deposition videos are providing a look at two people responsible for the largest termination of federal grants in the National Endowment for the Humanities' history.

In today’s Ways and Means Trade hearing, I’m questioning the Trump Administration’s secret deals for critical minerals—and the corruption and environmental devastation enabled around the world.

I don’t often agree with the Wall Street Journal editorial page, but they get it right here: Trump’s tariffs on Canada are a self-inflicted economic wound.

Worth noting: excluding Canadian oil—the one import Trump is desperate to keep flowing—the United States would actually have a trade surplus with Canada.

The larger problem, as the WSJ points out, is that Trump is waging self-destructive trade wars without a strategy—and voters are noticing.

Trump’s decision to escalate a tariff brawl with Canada makes no economic or political sense.

No limits to the insensitivity of the Trump regime: a modest but long-standing federal grant has been cut without explanation, threatening the end of a decade-long program dedicated to improving outcomes for parents with disabilities.

The government gave no explanation for terminating the funding, which for decades has supported the only national center focused on the issue.

Trump made $1.4 billion from crypto in a single year. Now his family’s crypto company is getting a bank charter from his own administration.

This isn’t just a conflict of interest. It is self-enrichment at the highest level of government. The corruption knows no bounds.

Regulators appointed by President Donald Trump are allowing the Trump family’s flagship cryptocurrency venture to become a bank, a move that is alarming ethics watchdogs and some lawmakers.
