Hi! My name is Simon Pruitt, I’m a writer and filmmaker based in Dallas, TX.
I’m putting together a documentary feature that follows Green Party candidates on the campaign trail ahead of the 2026 elections.
In this time of political unrest and Americans’ dissatisfaction with the two major parties, I see a real opportunity for a third party to seize this moment and alter the landscape of American politics.
There are two reasons that I’d like to choose the Green Party for this documentary project. Firstly, as many Americans are born into families of lifelong Republican or Democrat voters, very few grow up in a Green household. Knowing that, everyone who finds themself aligned with the Green Party as an adult must have a distinct path that led them there, or the story of a breaking point with other ideologies. That would make for great characters.
Secondly, the Green Party has worked tirelessly for years to get their candidates in office, but largely to no national avail. To me, this is the mark of true revolutionaries, who pump so much time and money into a cause that might not gain widespread power in their lifetime, but they continue to work because they believe in the cause and care for the future of the country.
As I understand it, the party is decentralized, so I’m reaching out to each state’s organization to check in on their 2026 campaigns and see if there would be availability to meet with one of their candidates over the next year.

Hi Simon. Thank you for reaching out! Unfortunately, there is no Green Party affiliate in North Dakota. That said, we can post a notice on this page, and if it sparks some interest, we can take it from there and hope to recruit one or more candidates!
