Last week we partnered with to host a budget town hall with youth and adults, conducted in Spanish with interpretation! Due to hearings being held during the workday, we created a space for community members to engage and invited Council staff from and ‘s offices. The evening included dinner, a Budget 101, updates on DC’s budget, community testimonies, and breakout discussions on priorities. We also highlighted support for those impacted by ICE. Community members valued the opportunity to learn and share concerns. Language access and access to healthcare remain critical issues for Latino residents contributing to the city.

Last week we co-hosted a Ranked Choice Voting Event to teach community members how to rank their ballot confidently for this year’s elections. In partnership with and hosted at , we got to discuss the importance of correctly ranking your ballot, how to do so, and how to register to vote. First up, for Mayor, we endorse candidate Janeese Lewis George. Lewis George received 69% of Caucus Member votes.
