Today, I had the honor of attending the Bayard Rustin Center for Social Justice’s Welcomin’ the Community Breakfast in Princeton. Since its founding, the Bayard Rustin Center has been a safe space for LGBTQ+ individuals and communities, as well as an activist center and educational space for crucial LGBTQ+ issues.

Taking action in support of our LGBTQ+ community and educational centers is crucial to protecting our LGBTQ+ neighbors. As Rustin said himself: “The proof that one believes is in action.” It was great to spend time with the community this morning connecting in a meaningful way.

The case against Rep McIver is an egregious example of Donald Trump’s weaponization of the DoJ to avoid any responsibility or accountability for its failures and inhumanity.

Criminalizing oversight deters lawmakers from holding Trump accountable—even if Democrats take back Congress.

LaMonica is strong and won’t be intimidated, but the continued attacks on her for doing her job is dangerous to our democracy.

I was there with her at Delaney Hall, holding ICE accountable for their human rights abuses. We stood together then, and I always will continue to stand with her.

There, you’ll be able to get assistance from Federal, State, and County offices. These include the Department of Veterans Affairs, Social Security Administration, and the Department of Education, as well as health and senior resources.
