The Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA) is an incorporated, not-for-profit, national membership association that represents the interests of over 67,000 Hispanic attorneys in the United States. We also serve Hispanic students, other legal professionals, and members if the community. Since 1972, the HNBA has acted as a force for positive change within the legal profession

by creating opportunities for Hispanic lawyers and by helping generations of lawyers to succeed. The HNBA has also effectively advocated on issues of importance to the national Hispanic community. While we are proud of our accomplishments, we are mindful that our mission is as vital today as it was nearly five decades ago, especially as the U.S. Hispanic population continues to grow.

It begins. 🎉 The HNBA/VIA Intellectual Property Law Institute 2026 is officially underway! Today, 26 exceptional law scholars arrived in Washington, D.C. to kick off a transformative week of IP and tech law immersion. Tonight, they gathered for their Welcome Reception — the first of many connections that will last well beyond this week.

The 2026 HNBA LGBT Division Legacy Scholarship application period is still open, and we encourage eligible law students across the country to apply before the May 31, 2026, deadline.

This $7,000 scholarship recognizes a law student who has demonstrated academic excellence and a strong commitment to advancing LGBTQ+ visibility and leadership within the legal profession and broader community.

As leaders within the HNBA community, we ask our members, Regional Governors, law student chapters, mentors, and supporters to share this opportunity throughout their networks. Amplifying this scholarship is an investment in the next generation of advocates, changemakers, and legal leaders.

Yesterday, HNBA leaders brought their voices to our nation's capital. We kicked off with a powerful "Who Counts in America?" panel on citizenship, redistricting, and Latino political power, met with federal lawmakers to discuss HNBA's work building the pipeline of Latino lawyers in the legal profession, and closed the evening with a reception. Advocacy Day 2026 was a full day of impact. This is what it looks like to show up for our communities. 🏛️
