With the 2026 midterms approaching, the Trump administration and its allies have intensified a sweeping campaign to erode the safeguards that keep our elections free, fair and secure. But we’re taking action. Link in bio.

We filed an amicus brief urging the court to stop construction of President Trump’s Ballroom project, which is opening the door for corruption.

This presidential pet project is being funded by private donors, including major corporations like Meta, Coinbase, Ripple and Lockheed Martin, who have significant interests before the federal government in the form of large government contracts and enforcement actions.

The reliance on private funding creates serious risks for corruption. But the Ballroom is just the latest example of this administration granting official benefits — like appointments, contracts and pardons — to wealthy special interests in return for contributions. We’re tracking dozens of these corrupt pay-to-play transactions.

Major throwback! Before campaign finance lawyers were late-night regulars, Campaign Legal Center president Trevor Potter was explaining it all on The Colbert Report. Together, they showed the absurdity of our campaign finance system in the wake of Citizens United. And somehow, it’s only gotten worse since then.

Trevor Potter, Campaign Legal Center president and Stephen Colbert’s former personal campaign finance lawyer, shares a message as Colbert’s late-night show comes to a close.

Reminder: We filed a complaint regarding FBI Director Kash Patel’s apparent misuse of government funds for personal travel unrelated to his official duties at least 10 times. The Department of Justice Office of the Inspector General must investigate.

On March 4, 2026, Campaign Legal Center (CLC) filed a complaint with the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) Office of the Inspector General (OIG) requesting an investigation into whether FBI Director Kash Patel violated federal travel regulations and standards of conduct by failing to reimburse the go...

This AAPI Heritage Month, we honor the legacy of Wong Kim Ark, whose landmark Supreme Court case affirmed what the 14th Amendment guarantees: All those born in the U.S. are citizens. Nearly 130 years later, that right is being challenged.

OpenAI, Palantir and other AI companies are pouring millions into the midterms to back candidates who oppose AI regulation. But the super PACs they’re using are evading disclosure laws and hiding who’s being paid and why. That’s why CLC filed a complaint.

A government ethics group has accused a pair of super political action committees backed by artificial intelligence investors of improperly concealing which companies they are paying to create advertisements and send messages to voters.
