Military officers are often unaware of the lifelong consequences that come with administratively discharging servicemembers. General David MacEwen (Ret.) shares his perspective from his time as an officer and the reality behind character of discharge decisions. This one action can be the deciding factor leading to veterans missing out on benefits they earned.

H.R. 9237 cuts benefits for some veterans to pay for benefits for others. As Representative Christian D. Menefee said, "If we're pinching pennies, let's tell the President to end his war in Iran, which has cost taxpayers billions and billions of dollars."

Veterans have long been trusted voices in our communities — and that trust matters during elections. By serving as poll workers, veterans help ensure our elections are fair, secure, and accessible while strengthening public confidence and pushing back on persistent myths about voter fraud.

Congress has the responsibility to right a decades-old wrong for combat-injured veterans. The clean Major Richard Star Act is ready for a vote in the House. Call your Member of Congress and tell them to sign the discharge petition TODAY!

This shouldn't be complicated: if you were injured in combat and those injuries forced you to retire early from the military, you should receive full retirement pay. Under current law, 20 years of service are required to receive both disability compensation and retirement pay, leaving behind those combat veterans who medically retired due to service injuries. Their service is no less valuable because they were injured. Their sacrifice is no less worthy. And they deserve the full benefits they earned. Pass the Major Richard Star Act.

Every month the Major Richard Star Act sits without a vote is another month that combat-injured veterans go without benefits they've already earned. It’s time to take the Major Richard Star Act to the House floor.

➡️Call your member's office and encourage them to sign the discharge petition.

🚨$27 BILLION is nearly TRIPLE the budget Trump asked for when he awarded VA's sole source EHRM contract. Taxpayers deserve to know where the money goes when they're asked to foot the bill. As EHRM go-lives accelerate, RM Congressman Mark Takano will push for answers from Oracle and VA at our 9/2 oversight hearing to ensure this contract serves veterans and not Trump's cronies.

A combat injury can force a servicemember to retire early. But our flawed system punishes veterans who medically retire before 20 years of service by withholding their retirement pay.

The Major Richard Star Act fixes that. It’s time to end the wounded veteran tax.
