URGENT: Protect Your Overseas Voting Rights - Oppose the SAVE America Act Now

House Republicans are once again trying to resurrect the SAVE America Act through a new bill — H.Res.1490. The bill is still in Committee, but we expect floor debate later in the week.

The SAVE America Act would require voters to provide proof of citizenship IN PERSON IN THE US when registering to vote.

Voters would also be required to present proof of citizenship along with an approved photo ID when registering to vote and when casting a ballot.

These requirements would disenfranchise nearly every American abroad.

Trump and Congressional Republicans are aggressively pushing to pass the bill before the midterm elections, trying to suppress the vote.

Congress needs to hear from us NOW. If you have a Democratic Rep, support them by sharing your story about why SAVE would prevent you from voting. And if you have a Republican Rep, they need to know that this act harms their constituents.

Contact your representatives today and demand they oppose HR 1490 and the SAVE America Act.

Thanks to the League of Women Voters for spreading the news that last Thursday, a federal court granted voting rights organizations’ emergency request to block USPS from implementing the newly-finalized mail ballot rule for the November midterm elections.

However, the temporary restraining order will remain in place only for 14 days while the parties brief the pending motion for a preliminary injunction, so be sure to request that your ballot be sent to you by email.
