I am excited to announce I am running for District 4 County Commissioner. I grew up in Moranville, off County Road 5, where I spent my first 18 years. I was homeschooled up until tenth grade, at which time I switched over to Warroad High School and graduated in 2008. From Warroad, I moved to Fargo to attend North Dakota State University and attained my bachelor’s degree in Business Management. All through college I worked evenings and weekends for a commercial cleaning company to help pay for college. I was promoted up in the company from custodian, to supply chain management, to assistant manager. After college, I started working as a welder for Bobcat in Gwinner, North Dakota. Although I greatly enjoyed welding Bobcat mainframes and Bob-tachs, my lead person, Lyle Johnson of Warroad, was bound and determined to get me into a more strategic business-related role. Eventually he convinced me to apply for a Material Planner role at the Bismarck facility. After being accepted for the position, I moved to Bismarck and enjoyed working in supply chain management for the next three years. As I was working full-time for Bobcat, I enrolled at the University of Mary where I completed my Masters in Business Administration (MBA) degree. Upon completion of my MBA, I was able to move up into a Business Analyst position with the Business Intelligence department at Bobcat. In 2020, I married my wife, Ashley, and we chose to move back to the community to start a family. We now live in the Swift area with our one-year-old son, Oliver. Ashley currently serves the community as an Occupational Therapist for LifeCare Rehab in Warroad. I work as an Operations Manager and Carpenter for Scott Johnson Companies. My parents are Jack and Bonnie and four of my five siblings live in and around the Warroad area. My oldest brother Gordy lives in Tokyo, Japan.
It would be an honor to serve the townships of District 4 of Roseau County. I believe my business-oriented, data-driven, and technologically-innovative problem solving will help solve issues for our District and broader Roseau County as efficiently as possible. I greatly enjoy problem solving and believe I can come up with new and innovative solutions to longstanding, current, and future problems we face as a community.
