Success is never achieved alone. It requires a strong support system and people who are willing to open doors and create opportunities for others. Thank you to each of them for supporting me in my re-election campaign!

I want to especially thank Lorie Barnwell, Angela Rogensues, Lori Stone, and Stephanie Chang —women who have navigated the challenges and rewards of public service and continue to lead by example. Thank you for believing in me, supporting me, and giving me the opportunity to serve.

I still remember the first time I met Lorie, Angela and Lori in 2020 during the pandemic! When I was running for office for the first time, many local leaders did not want to talk to me, these women gave me a chance and an opportunity to feel seen and supported.

Because of the grace, resilience, and encouragement you have shown me, I wake up every day energized, grateful, and ready to do this work on behalf of our community.

One of the highlights of today's grand opening of the new Lake Shore Public Schools Community Center and Early Childhood Center was getting to test out the new pickleball courts with some of the Lake Shore High School students!

I haven't played competitively since my high school tennis days, but it turns out those skills still come in handy. Even better —I managed to hold my own while wearing wedge heels!

Beyond the fun, it's exciting to see this new Community Center and Early Childhood Center come to life. Investments like these create spaces where people of all ages can learn, play, stay active, and build community together.

I can't wait to see families, students, and residents enjoy these new amenities!

Your commitment and perseverance never go unnoticed.

Today is Gun Violence Awareness Day, so we are wearing orange and talking to voters in Warren! I’m proud to support my fellow state representative Natalie Price for Senate District 10, which includes the west side of Warren.

Natalie has been a champion for gun safety legislation, and I look forward to continuing to work with her when she is in the Michigan Senate!

Every person deserves to feel safe in their home, school, workplace, and community.

Today, I’m proud honor those whose lives have been impacted by gun violence and recommit ourselves to finding common-sense solutions that save lives and protect families.

Exposing Matt Hall, Michigan House Republicans abuse of taxpayer dollars: using our state Capitol security guards for their private fundraisers, and most recently spending thousands dollars using them as his security for a week long trip to Mackinac Island. They changed the law so that these sargeants —who have never left the capitol grounds, could accompany him as if they were his private security detail everywhere he goes.

Ironically, their dark money pac, Michigan Forward, funded by MAGA billionaire Betsy DeVos is singling me out and shaming me for a private fundraiser I held in another state during my own time.

Who hates their constituents? Matt Hall, the guy who doesn’t meet with his constituents, doesn’t return their calls (his office voicemail box is always full). The gaslighting and hypocrisy by the MI GOP is astounding!

Earlier this year in March, a White House deputy chief of staff rounded up House Republicans and told them to stop talking about “mass deportations.”

They were panicking because Americans found that their tactics were extremely aggressive and inhumane and that it would backfire in this year’s election.

They’re still doing it. They are still detaining and mass deporting people who have never committed a crime. Now they are pepper spraying detainees for going on hunger strikes because the food is making them sick.

So let’s keep talking about it from now until November 3 and beyond. Keep them accountable and never let the American people forget about what is happening in our own backyards.
