๐Ÿšง SR 501/198 PROJECT UPDATE โ€“ SR 501 CLOSURE EXTENDED ๐Ÿšง

The City has received an updated schedule from Miller Contracting and ODOT regarding the ongoing SR 501/198 intersection reconstruction project.

SR 501 will remain closed through Friday, September 18, 2026. This will delay the closing of SR 198 so as to not have both roads closed at the same time.

Motorists should continue to follow the posted detour and allow additional travel time when traveling through the area.

The City will continue to share updates from ODOT and the contractor as additional information or schedule changes become available.

Thank you for your continued patience while this project moves forward.

๐Ÿšง PUBLIC NOTICE โ€“ STREET CLOSURE ๐Ÿšง

On Wednesday, September 9, from 8:00 a.m. to approximately 2:00 p.m., weather permitting, streets near the intersection of Water Street and North Street will be closed while City Electric crews complete a utility pole transfer.

An additional closure will be necessary at a later date, and another notice will be provided once that work is scheduled.

Please refer to the attached map for the affected closure area and plan accordingly.

We appreciate everyone's patience and understanding while our crews complete this work safely.

PJM HOT WEATHER & MAXIMUM GENERATION ALERT

PJM has issued a current Hot Weather Alert through Friday, September 4, and has also issued a Maximum Generation Alert for today due to high electricity demand across the regional power grid.

Current forecasts indicate that peak shaving may be necessary today to help reduce the electric demand during the highest-cost periods. Thunderstorms are also possible, which could affect when peak demand occurs.

High wholesale power prices are possible through sunset. These efforts help manage the Cityโ€™s overall power costs and, ultimately, help control costs for our electric customers.
