The Stokes Early College High School is a North Carolina Cooperative and Innovative High School located in the Meadows community of Walnut Cove, N.C. The program is a partnership between Stokes County Schools and Forsyth Tech, in cooperation with the Stokes County Government. The Stokes Early College opened in the fall of 2009 with 48 ninth grade students. The school is organized so that around fi

fty rising ninth grade students are admitted each year and typically has an enrollment between 160-180 students. The Stokes Early College is a public school that draws students from all parts of the Stokes County School District; however, it is selective in admissions and has high expectations of its students. The Stokes Early College gives strong consideration to students who are the first in their families to attend college, economically disadvantaged students, students academically at-risk, and those traditionally underrepresented in higher education; however, all interested students are strongly encouraged to apply for admission to the Stokes Early College. Students at the Stokes Early College experience a rigorous academic schedule and students can earn a high school diploma and up to a two-year college degree in 4 or 5 years. - If there are any students who for some reason do not pass a high school class, you will be contacted about the possibility of attending Summer Credit Recovery June 2-4 and June 8-11.
