The Wallingford Land Trust

The Wallingford Land Trust The Wallingford Land Trust, Inc. is a non profit organization dedicated to the preservation of nature Life has changed so rapidly over the past thirty years.

is a non profit organization dedicated to the preservation of natural habitats and areas of scenic beauty in Wallingford, Connecticut. The Land Trust accomplishes this by acquiring properties and maintaining them as open space for passive recreational use by the public. Today, the WLT manages fourteen properties, covering more than 200 acres. What hasn't changed is our need for places where we can

still connect with nature. We will not have those places unless we preserve areas where wildlife can thrive in its natural habitat. That takes the personal involvement of those who want to retain a high quality of life in our community.

We no longer mow the trail at Shookies Pond, but the Water Division recently did its annual mowing. If you want to go birdwatching at the pond, now is the time to visit before the trail gets overgrown again with invasive mugwort.
