Why Experience Matters for Precinct 2 County Commissioner
Friends and neighbors in Waller County, Today, May 26th, is Election Day - and the last day to vote for your County Commissioner.
When I walk into the voting booth, I ask one simple question:
“Who actually has the real experience to do this job?”
Not just talk — but someone who has rolled up their sleeves and worked side-by-side with the teams that build and maintain our roads, drainage, and flood protection every single day.
That’s why I’m proudly voting for myself — Robert Goodspeed — and I humbly ask for your support.
I’m the candidate with real experience:
• Supervising new roads, drainage systems, and detention facilities in Waller County to ensure they’re built right the first time — protecting your tax dollars from future fixes.
• Working daily in the Waller County Engineering Department on our nearly 600 miles of roads that desperately need attention.
• Serving on the Pre-development Committee, reviewing plans with developers, asking the tough questions, and enforcing our Subdivision Rules.
• Partnering with Floodplain Managers to protect homes and roads from flooding before it happens.
With 10 years as a project supervisor for a civil engineering firm (building highways, subdivisions, and bridges), I’m currently inspecting the Riley Road Bridge Project. I know how to read plans, review bids, and ensure that taxpayers get what they pay for.
I’ve authored the new “Waller County Acceptance Criteria for Concrete Roadways” (approved by Commissioners Court), created simpler permitting rules to cut red tape for residents and small businesses, and worked with our Fire Department to plan new stations in growing subdivisions.
Endorsed by lifelong resident and current Precinct 1 Waller County Commissioner John Amsler, who said:
“Robert Goodspeed is a man of character and the best qualified for the position.”
I also serve on the Waller County Child Welfare Board, and I stand for practical solutions: wider roads in new subdivisions, repairing existing infrastructure, preserving natural vegetation, stronger police presence, smarter spending, and lower taxes — not clear-cutting every tree for subdivisions and then turning around and calling it Maple or Magnolia.
Most importantly, I’m the one who gets out, listens to you, walks your property, and works directly with you to solve real flooding, drainage, and citizens’ concerns.
I’m not a career politician. I’ve owned and operated two successful businesses for 27 years.
I’m a husband, father, grandfather, Christian, a Rush Limbaugh conservative, first President I voted for was Ronald Reagan and proud Waller County resident who shows up every day to make our county better.
Experience matters. Today on Election Day, I ask for your vote so we can bring proven, practical leadership to Precinct 2 and Waller County as a whole.
Let’s protect our tax dollars, fix our infrastructure, and keep Waller County the great place we all love to call home.
Thank you, God bless you, and God bless Waller County!
Robert Goodspeed
