On June 8, 2026, the Wadsworth Volunteer Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire in bay city. Crews were dispatched and quickly arrived on scene, joining other local departments already working the incident.
Firefighters from across the county worked together to bring the fire under control, secure a steady water supply, and support ongoing operations throughout the scene. Strong communication and teamwork between departments played a key role in the response.
Wadsworth VFD personnel remained on scene assisting until being cleared by incident command.
We appreciate the efforts of all agencies involved and are proud to stand alongside our fellow departments in serving and protecting Matagorda County.
