EOAC: Moving Families Forward

EOAC: Moving Families Forward EOAC moves families forward by connecting them to opportunities that build lasting stability. Every family thriving.

Serving children, families, and community members across the Heart of Texas since 1966. The Economic Opportunities Advancement Corporation is a private non-profit organization, chartered by the State of Texas on April 25, 1966. The purpose for which the agency was created is to implement and carry out the provisions of the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964. This act recognizes that the United State

s can achieve its economic and social potential as a nation only if every individual has the opportunity to contribute to the full elimination of poverty in McLennan, Bosque, Freestone, Limestone, Hill, Falls, Johnson, Ellis, and Navarro Counties. This is done by opening to everyone the opportunity to work, live in decency and dignity; and to strengthen, supplement and coordinate other efforts in the 9 counties.

Keeping doors open between rooms can help air circulate more evenly throughout your home.

Better airflow means your system doesn’t have to work as hard.

Words help children make sense of the world around them. Describing what your child is doing during play builds vocabulary and helps them connect actions with language in a natural way.

At Head Start, we know that simple conversations like “You’re building a tall tower” or “You’re stacking the blocks” support early language development and confidence. These small moments of narration turn everyday play into meaningful learning experiences.

💬 What new word has your child learned recently? We’d love to hear the words they’re starting to use!

Not sure where to start? EOAC is here to help. 💙

For 60 years, EOAC has served children, families, and community members by connecting them to opportunities that build lasting stability.

Whether you are looking for early childhood education, help with utility costs, weatherization services, workforce support, or emergency assistance, EOAC can help you learn what programs may be available and how to take the next step.

Our work is about more than meeting one need. It is about helping families move forward with support, dignity, and care.

Eligibility and availability may vary by program.

We were surprised and honored today by a special visit from Yadira Bruh, Outreach Specialist II and Member Advocate with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas. 💙

Yadira presented EOAC with a Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of our support for the community. We are truly grateful for this meaningful acknowledgment and for the continued partnership of BCBSTX.

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas has been a consistent partner at EOAC Parent and Family Engagement Events and a strong supporter of our Head Start and Early Head Start programs.

Thank you, BCBSTX, for showing up for families, supporting our community, and helping create moments of connection, care, and support for the children and families we serve.

We are grateful for partners who help move families forward.

For 60 years, EOAC has walked alongside families. 💙

As we begin a new month, we are also stepping into an important new chapter with a renewed mission, vision, and focus for the future.

Our mission is simple: EOAC moves families forward by connecting them to opportunities that build lasting stability.

Our vision is clear: Every family thriving.

Whether through early learning, family support, energy assistance, weatherization, workforce development, or emergency assistance, our work is connected by one shared purpose: helping families take the next step forward.

This September, we look forward to sharing more about where EOAC is going, what Moving Families Forward means, and how we will continue serving children, families, and community members across the Heart of Texas.

Moving Families Forward. Every Family Thriving.

When it’s time to replace appliances, ENERGY STAR models use less energy and save money over time. Most models are already ENERGY STAR rated if they are new, but if you are buying a used appliance, be sure it has the ENERGY STAR rating.

They’re designed to be efficient without sacrificing performance.

EOAC is proud to welcome new voices to our Board of Directors. 💙

Please join us in welcoming Tiffany Gallegos Whitley, Isabel Lozano, and Ashley Bean Thornton to the EOAC Board of Directors.

Each brings meaningful experience, perspective, and a heart for service that will help guide EOAC’s work across the Heart of Texas. Their leadership reflects the strength of Community Action: bringing together public, private, and community voices to better serve children, families, and individuals.

We are grateful for their willingness to serve and look forward to the impact their leadership will help make as EOAC continues Moving Families Forward toward a future where Every Family is Thriving.

Laughter is one of the simplest and most powerful ways to connect with your child. Sharing smiles, silly moments, and giggles helps create joy and builds a strong, positive bond that children carry with them.

At Head Start, we know that laughter supports emotional well-being, reduces stress, and helps children feel safe and connected. Those lighthearted moments are not just fun, they’re an important part of growing and learning together.

💬 What makes your child laugh the most? We’d love to hear the moments that bring joy to your home!

EOAC is moving into an important new chapter. 💙

Our Board of Directors has approved EOAC’s 2026–2029 Strategic Plan, giving us a clear direction for the next three years and a renewed focus on what connects all of our work: Moving Families Forward.

This plan introduces our new mission and vision:

Our Mission: EOAC moves families forward by connecting them to opportunities that build lasting stability.

Our Vision: Every family thriving.

For 60 years, EOAC has served children, families, and community members across the Heart of Texas. This new plan helps us continue that work with greater clarity, coordination, and purpose.
