Northern Virginia, massive plots of land are continuously being sold to developers and tech companies to fuel the explosive growth of "Data Center Alley". Major recent sellers include:
George Washington University: Sold its 122-acre Virginia Science and Technology Campus in Ashburn to Amazon Web Services for $427 million.
JK Land Holdings: Chuck Kuhn’s company sold 97 acres in Leesburg for a record-breaking $615 million to SDC Capital Partners.
Fairfax County: Voted to sell 42 acres of the police training facility in Chantilly to Starwood Capital Group for $166.8 million.
Manassas City Council: Voted to sell approximately 20 acres of city-owned land near the Manassas Regional Airport to Amazon.
Local Private Owners: The popular Merrifield Garden Center in Prince William County was sold to a private equity firm to pave the way for data center development.
