Not the average morning call — emergency crews responded near Norris Hot Springs on Hwy 84, approximately mile marker 1, after a vehicle left the roadway and came to rest on the roof of a garage. One individual was transported to the hospital for evaluation. Responding agencies included Madison County Sheriff’s Office, Harrison Volunteer Fire, Montana Highway Patrol, Madison County Emergency Management, and Madison Valley EMS. The incident remains under investigation by Montana Highway Patrol. Thank you to all responding personnel for their coordinated response and teamwork.

SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING for Northern Madison and central Beaverhead counties until 3:00 PM MDT.
At 2:12 PM, a severe thunderstorm was located 8 miles east of Dillon, moving northeast at 45 mph.
70 mph wind gusts possible.
Impacted locations include Dillon, Sheridan, Twin Bridges, Alder, Pony, Silver Star, Harrison, Melrose, Bannack, Laurin, Waterloo, Glen, and Bannack State Park.

Elevated fire to critical fire weather conditions develop Wednesday afternoon amid hot, dry, and breezy to windy conditions. There will also be gusty showers and thunderstorms that race northeastward in the afternoon and evening, mostly impacting north-central and southwest MT. Be sure to avoid actions that may cause sparks and be ready to take shelter from storms if outdoors.

Very warm, dry, and breezy to windy conditions will bring elevated to critical fire weather conditions on Wednesday, especially for the drier southwest and northeastern MT. There will also be gusty showers and thunderstorms that move from southwest to northeast in the afternoon and evening. Be mindful of the dry conditions and avoid activity involving sparks or open flames.
