A couple years back received an update from Playworld and we are here for it. The are a big hit and definitely something you don’t see often. The playground itself isn’t very large, almost minimal BUT there are enough features to keep the kids engaged 🙌🏼

All ages. Fun for big kids!

🧗 Equipment Highlights:
- Geometric pod climber aka Hive Climber
- Rocking saucer
- Musical instruments area
- Adaptive swing
- Angled climbing structure

🌳 Shade & Comfort:
Partially shaded and backed up to a wooded area! Lots of room to run around without having to worry about kids running out into the street.

🚻 Amenities:
* Bathrooms: No.
* Parking: Street.
* Trash Cans: Yes.
* Grills: No.

🎉🌳 WE MISSED OUR OWN BIRTHDAY! 🛝🥳

Apparently, we’ve been a little distracted by ducks lately… 🦆😂

But August 23 officially marked ONE YEAR of VB ParkHopper!

On August 23, 2025, we made our very first post from New Light Park, with a simple idea: get out, explore the parks and playgrounds around Virginia Beach, and share what we found along the way.

A LOT has changed since that first post. 😂

Our posts have changed. Our format has changed. We’ve visited more parks, discovered some hidden gems, found some new favorite playground features, and somehow… there are now little VB ParkHopper ducks roaming around Virginia Beach. 🦆

But the reason we’re doing it hasn’t changed.

We love getting out and exploring these parks, and it makes us incredibly happy to see that so many of you are enjoying the adventure with us. Whether you’ve followed from the beginning or just found our page recently, thank you for following along, sharing our posts, recommending parks, commenting, voting, and helping VB ParkHopper grow into what it is today. 💚

One year down… and we’re nowhere near finished.

There are still plenty of parks to explore, playgrounds to discover, ducks to hide, and a few other ideas we’re working on behind the scenes. 👀

So keep following along, because there’s SO much more to come! 🛝🌳🦆

The duck is GONE. 😂

Somebody found the very first VBParkHopper Duck — we just don’t know WHO!

Agent 001 was last seen deployed at Thalia Park earlier today. No check-in. No photo. No communication. His current whereabouts are unknown. 👀

If YOU found Agent 001, scan the QR code on his tag or drop us a comment. We just need proof of life. 😂

And if he’s already been re-hidden somewhere…

🦆 THE VB PARKHOPPER DUCK HUNT IS HERE! 🛝

We’ve teased these little guys, and it’s finally time to tell you what they’re all about!

Starting soon, VB ParkHopper Ducks will be hiding at playgrounds throughout Virginia Beach and beyond!

🔎 HOW IT WORKS:

🦆 We hide a VB ParkHopper Duck at a local playground.

👀 We post a clue letting you know there’s a duck somewhere waiting to be found.

📸 If you find it, snap a picture and tag VB ParkHopper so we know our little ParkHopper has been discovered!

🤔 Then YOU decide what happens next:

🏠 KEEP IT! It’s yours!

OR…

🛝 RE-HIDE IT! Take it along on your next playground adventure and hide it for another family to discover. If you do, send us a private message telling us where you left it so we can keep the hunt going!

But there’s one thing we haven’t decided…

I have been eyeing since bringing our first child to and finally made the stop! It has something for every age, shade, bathrooms, parking lot, picnic tables with grills, and even 🤩
You can even get lucky and see planes fly by!

This park has so much space! It’s very open. The park itself is on a main road but the playground is not. The playground is on the side towards the zoo, literally walking distance!

You may start seeing a few new little ParkHoppers popping up around Virginia Beach! 👀🛝

We’ve been working on something fun behind the scenes, and these VB ParkHopper Ducks are almost ready to head out on their own adventures.

Soon, we’ll be sharing more information about how you might be able to find one of these little guys for yourself. 🦆🌳

If you happen to find one, there may just be a reason to snap a picture, tag VB ParkHopper, and let us know where your adventure took you! 📸

Toddler focused playground! I love that everything including the playground itself is low to the ground. There is no shade so definitely wouldn’t come here midafternoon on a sunny day but morning time or cloudy afternoons would be great.

- Low to ground landing slides
- Low to ground rockers
- Playground itself is lower to the ground
- Ground activities

No shade over playground.

* Bathrooms: No.
* Parking: Street.
* Trash Cans: Yes.
* Grills: No.

👀 Visibility & Layout:
Short walk from street to playground which is nice. Plenty of open grass area for children to run around and play.
