I have my ticket do you have yours? I grew up on Main Street in Vinita, my family had two offices on the 200 block of South Wilson during the 1980s. We also had an antique store, auction house, Vinita Discount Furniture, etc.
I've walked Main Street in parades, announced parades, ridden in the parades, going back decades! Bought jewelry, shot pool in the pool halls, bought clothes from Vanity Fair and Drapers, ate at Christy's Diner, bought shoes at Felts, the list goes ON and On!
So many businesses gone and cherished friends as well. I knew almost every downtown business owner, we did business with them, ate with them, stopped in each other's shops and had coffee together.
A large number of the downtown business owners were Freemasons, including my father. I grew up tagging along with my parents to Masons and Shriners get-togethers. And growing up on Main Street they all treated me as their own.
I love seeing this event bringing back the old stories and to support Vinita as we develop our historic Ward 3 downtown district!
There’s just something special about gathering on Main Street. And this year, we're doing it Rt. 66 Style!
Stories on the Street is a limited-seating community dinner under the stars, featuring incredible food from Piguet’s Prime Time and the kind of atmosphere you only find in a small town.
Come be a part of a night that celebrates Vinita at its best!
Friday, May 8, from 6:30–8:00 PM on the 100 block of Wilson Street.
