School librarians, library staff and administrators from across the region gathered yesterday at for the annual Library Administrative Event hosted by the Professional Learning and Innovation Center (PLIC).
The day featured collaborative learning opportunities, recognition of outstanding library leaders, such as Vestal Middle School librarian Tracey Cornwell, who was in attendance, and a powerful student panel, which included VMS 7th grader, Anastasia, that provided firsthand perspectives on the impact school libraries have on learning, literacy and student success.
Hearing directly from students served as a reminder that school libraries are more than places to find books. They are spaces where curiosity is encouraged, critical thinking is developed and meaningful connections are made.
Thank you to all who attended, presented and shared their expertise to support the continued growth of school library programs across our region.
