Families, here is all the important information for 8th-grade graduation. Please read all parts carefully and message [email protected] if you have any questions.

General Information:

Graduation will be Thursday, May 28th at 11 am.

The graduation ceremony will be at the new football practice field by Woodford County High School.

Students are not required, but encouraged to wear "Sunday best." Clothes are required to meet school dress code (ex: if the dress is strapless, plan for your student to wear a sweater/cardigan).
Students will be walking to the football field; please be mindful of shoes as well.

Parking:

Please use the following locations in this order (as they fill up):

1. Student lot at WCHS. You can only enter this parking lot through School House Rd or Chinoe. There will be spots blocked off in the student parking lot for handicapped parking.

2. The grass area across from the practice field. There will be police officers present to guide parking.

3. Bus Circle at WCHS

4. Parent Pick-Up line/Bus Circle at WCMS

If you are parking in the bus circle at WCHS or any locations at WCMS, this is not long-term parking. You may only park in these locations if you plan on leaving immediately after graduation.

Please carpool if at all possible to help with crowd control.

Other important parking information:
There will be NO parking on School House Rd or Chinoe Rd (street parking).
Someone will be present to help transport to and from the stadium in a UTV.

Checking Your Student Out:

If you plan on checking your student out after the ceremony:
Please fill out this form: ( https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfg-AbxtRDAb_GI_0x6agftQ9Unj1WIiCDDLWLuhSUs3tibaQ/viewform ) to give teachers/staff an idea of who will be leaving and returning to school.

There will be a couple of tables as you walk into the ceremony at the football field where you can check your student out with a school employee.

You MUST do this before you sit down, and you will be required to show your photo ID.

If you are checking out a 6th or 7th grade student to attend:
You will need to go to WCMS and check them out before going to the ceremony (Please note: this is not an excused absence). Please plan accordingly.

If your student is returning to school after the ceremony, you can bypass these steps and go directly to the bleachers to find a seat.

Please make sure your information on this google form is correct. Your student will not be able to leave with you after graduation unless you have filled out this form, check them out at one of the tables before graduation begins, and bring a photo ID with you.

This afterschool event will be held on May 5th from 4-5PM at the high school and will provide food from Raising Cane's, facilitated conversation, and a group crafting activity that participants may take home once the event concludes.

Our peer-mentored conversations will be led by our volunteer high school table hosts, all of whom have been trained in facilitating meaningful discussion. Each event aims to allow middle school students to communicate with their peers in a new, constructive environment and develop their self-regulation skills.

Thank you for supporting the Youth Engagement Project!

Our 8th graders wrapped up an unforgettable Chicago adventure in the best way possible! After an exciting day exploring the incredible exhibits at the Shedd Aquarium and diving into history at the Field Museum, students spent their final evening enjoying a dinner and dance cruise. Celebrating an amazing trip together with great food, music, and unforgettable views of the city skyline.

Today, they closed out their trip with one last stop at the Griffin Museum of Science and Industry, where they explored hands-on exhibits and discovered even more about science, innovation, and the world around them.

From learning and exploring to laughing and making memories with friends, this trip was truly one for the books.

A very special thank you goes out to our incredible chaperones who made this trip possible. Their time, energy, and dedication helped create a safe, fun, and memorable experience for our students. 🐯✨
