This week in The Agitator: Sam Lewis dives into the ongoing debate about DSA’s electoral strategy and the widening gulf between what the National Political Committee claims they want versus the reality on the ground.

To build a genuine party with a mass constituency, we will need to invest in learning from and replicating our successes, not bringing them to a halt while hoping without evidence that another strategy will materialize.

On 6/14, to more clearly articulate our political perspective within DSA & the larger left, SMC members voted to adopt a new set of Points of Unity for the caucus.

SMC believes it is essential to build a mass socialist movement & ground ourselves in majoritarian socialist politics. The stakes could not be higher: if we don't succeed at those tasks, we cannot defeat the ruling class.

Socialist Majority is excited to present our 2023 NPC slate! We’re grateful that these six comrades have stepped up to the challenge.

Colleen (she/they) is a member of Denver DSA and has served on the chapter steering committee, as well as DSA's Growth and Development Committee, where they have led national new member calls, monthly renewal textbanks, and last summer’s Recommitment Drive.

Melina (she/her) is a lifelong activist, organizer, and fighter. She is a two-time co-chair of Metro Detroit DSA, facilitates Detroit's Ecosocialist Committee, founded the chapter’s Black and brown Alliance, and was a lead organizer on the PRO Act Campaign.

Renée (she/her) has served as California DSA co-chair, as a member of NYC-DSA’s Citywide Leadership Committee, as a past chair of DSA's National Electoral Committee, and as a member of the national Protect Abortion working group & the 2020 Bernie committee.

Grace (she/her) is an NYC-DSA member. She has served on her branch organizing committee as treasurer and spent four years on the chapter's electoral organizing committee. She is currently the candidate recruitment chair for the chapter.

Sarah (she/her) is a member of Metro Cincinnati & Northern KY DSA. She leads their campaign against Ohio Issue 1 to protect abortion rights. Nationally, she serves on the Steering Committees of the Growth & Development and Political Education committees.

Rael (he/him) is a member of NYC-DSA. He has served on the BUM branch's Organizing Committee and its Electoral Working Group. He has also served on the Citywide Leadership Committee and the Citywide Electoral Steering Committee.
