A party that glorifies criminals and corruption, Ken Paxton, Mike Collins, and Austin McCollum. A party that would rather take millions in NRA donations than even have a conversation about gun control legislation. A party that panders to rural and low income voters, then stabs them in the back.

While Americans spent Labor Day weekend worrying about grocery bills, gas prices, and the consequences of another war, Donald Trump filled his social media feed this weekend with AI-generated maps of “New America,” fantasy military imagery, and a ranking declaring himself the greatest president ever. He also attacked political opponents, boasted about his record, and threatened Canadian aircraft sales. The country needs serious leadership, not a president treating the White House like a meme account. Renaming places and manufacturing images of victory won’t lower prices, end a war, or solve the problems his administration created. Can’t fix it? Distract.

Just over 2,000 tickets have reportedly been distributed, while dozens of Republican candidates and lawmakers are skipping or still undecided about attending. Even Trump has now expanded his role to speak both nights as concerns grow about turnout. The hype may be much bigger than the crowd.

Cracks are forming, and even Republicans can see Trump is hurting everyone!

Quoting Sen. Kevin Cramer (R-ND), Martin wrote that Cramer said about Trump that “he’s in serious trouble in farm country. He being Trump — and Trump is us. I’m not very optimistic.” Martin added that Trump's policies have harmed farm state Republicans by raising their prices through tariffs, making diesel and fertilizer more expensive through the Iran war and importing foreign beef at the expense of domestic cattle ranchers.

About an hour ago, the Van Buren Police Department made a statement about policy updates to Flock camera usage and also gave some transparency to its uses and sharing. Whether as a result of our statement or not, we appreciate the VBPD updating the public and we look forward to continuing the conversation about public safety and privacy. We also want to say thank you to our local police officers and sheriff deputies for their diligence in keeping our community safe.
