ATFD recently took delivery of 20 sections of Snap Tite Gladiator FGN hose and 8 Elkhart brass nozzles received through a combination of grants and donations. These were placed in service after our monthly meeting as our primary attack lines.

Thank you to the The Findlay-Hancock County Community Foundation, Findlay Eagles 2118, and the Van Buren Lions Club for their donations towards this project.

Also thank you to firefighter Jacob Plummer, who spearheaded the project and received the funding from the above entities.

ATFD participated in an Aerial Operations course alongside Liberty Township Fire and Findlay Fire today hosted at the STRICT Center with Ohio Fire Academy instructors. The class helped all participants get reps on offensive use of an aerial device and placement/tactics on a fire ground.

At 3:46pm yesterday we were dispatched to a garage fire at 223 Pearl Street. Thick black smoke was reported coming from the garage at the time with the garage attached to the house. Upon arriving on scene the garage became fully engulfed and first due engine had a great knockdown stoping the fire from reaching into the house and getting the fire under control quickly. We would like to thank McComb PD for initial size up and hydrant location, McComb PMP for your initial set up help, and Allen Township for your Auto-Aid. Leipsic Fire Department was also requested but was disregarded due to the initial attack. Great Job Everyone!

ATFD was happy to have Steve Hoover of the Findlay Eagles in attendance at our meeting last night. Steve presented our members with a donation check that is to go towards the funding of a project to get new nozzles for our department.

We would like to thank Steve for his diligence and time committed to this, and we look forward to sharing more once all of our equipment has arrived. Partnerships like this are what keeps volunteer fire departments operating.
