The Vallejo Fire Department 2025 call summary is in, with 18,896 total calls for service nearly tying the departments all time high call total of 18,997 in 2024.

The Vallejo Fire Department is committed to rapid emergency response to emergencies of all call types.

The Vallejo Fire Department awards our members with a Lifesaving Medal based on great heroism during an emergency in which their actions made a direct and measurable impact towards saving a life.

Four Lifesaving Medals were recently awarded to Captain Morty Culverwell, Captain Anthony LaSala, Firefighter Paramedic Andrew Marques and Firefighter Paramedic Alex Marques for their actions that directly saved a life as they pulled an unconscious man out of a working car fire and then promptly provided emergency medical care that restored his airway.

Our department and union’s primary mission is to save lives and protect property. The medals awarded here exemplify this.

5 tips your firefighters to stay safe this Halloween Weekend

🎃 Always look both ways before crossing the street.

🎃 Stay visible. Use flashlights and add reflective tape to costumes.

🎃 Stay on the sidewalk. Before crossing the street, make sure you look both ways.

🎃 Always stick together in a group if going out.

🎃 Check your children’s candy before they eat it.

2- Taking home the hardware at charity events hosted by our police counterparts

Vallejo Firefighter/Paramedics responded to a traumatic patient call this past week needing life flight to a local trauma center. One of our medics took a ride in to assist with continued patient care.

Six Vallejo Firefighters are currently assigned to the , burning southeast of Paso Robles. The fire has scorched over 130,000 acres and currently sits at 51% contained.

After a long afternoon assisting on a grass fire, Vallejo Engine 26 returned home to find Angel and Ammon shooting hoops on our station apron. Unfortunately, we had to interrupt their game to clean our wildland hose, but they didn’t fret! They jumped in and offered their help!

If going PRO doesn’t pan out, we may have a couple future Vallejo Firefighters on our hands!

Vallejo Firefighters joined our Vallejo Police counterparts to honor the funeral procession for Parole Agent Joshua Lemont Byrd who was tragically killed yesterday in the line of duty.

While events such as this weigh heavy on all of us, we are proud to be able to pay our respects to this fallen hero.
