Upper Darby Paramedic Rescue - Station 500

As the proud new owner of 120 traffic cones, Upper Darby Paramedic Rescue hosted its first VFIS Emergency Vehicle Driver Training (EVDT/EVOC) course which consisted of 8 hours classroom lecture followed by 4 hours of driving on the competency course. Participants will then complete an additional 10 hours of driver training under direct supervision before operating an emergency vehicle as the primary driver. Congratulations to our newly certified drivers who successfully completed the class followed by their written and driver competency exams.

UDPR Medic 565 (Collingdale Unit) was dispatched to Arbor Rd in Yeadon Borough this morning with Collingdale Fire Company Ambulance 33 for a maternity. Congratulations to Collingdale EMTs Morgan Jones and Joey Evans, along with UDPR Paramedic Jen Reader on the successful breech delivery of a baby girl. Thank you to Clifton Heights Fire Company Ambulance 3 (UDPR EMTs Eric Barmes and Emily McGinley) and UDPR Medic 500 Assistant Chief Fred La Luz for assisting on scene.

Upper Darby Paramedic Rescue - Station 500 crews (Paramedic Jackie Murphy, EMT John Tudo, EMT Maura Morris, and Assistant Chief Jeff Kane) responded to the 800 block of Fairfax road for a maternity this evening. EMS crews along with assistance from Upper Darby Fire Department, Upper Darby Police Department, Collingdale Fire Company EMS, and Mercy Fitzgerald Medic 105B Paramedic Kim Baker, delivered a 9.2 lb healthy baby boy.
