The Mount Holly Township Police Department would like to recognize the outstanding work of our Detective Bureau and law enforcement partners following the successful conclusion of a significant federal wiretap investigation involving fentanyl, co***ne, and fi****ms trafficking in Burlington County.

On June 3, 2026, the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of New Jersey announced that all eight defendants charged as a result of this investigation have now been sentenced to prison. The lead defendant received a sentence of 225 months in federal prison.

This investigation involved federal, state, county, and local law enforcement agencies working together to target individuals involved in distributing dangerous narcotics and illegally trafficking fi****ms throughout our region. The case included court-authorized wiretaps, controlled purchases, confidential sources, search warrants, and other investigative techniques. Four fi****ms were recovered as a result of the investigation.

I want to recognize the members of our MHPD Detective Bureau for the important role they played in this investigation. Cases like this require significant behind-the-scenes work, coordination, and follow-through that often goes unnoticed. Their efforts are appreciated and reflect the level of professionalism we expect from the Mount Holly Police Department.

Fentanyl, co***ne, illegal fi****ms, and violence have no place in Mount Holly or anywhere in Burlington County. We remain committed to working with our federal, state, county, and municipal partners to identify those responsible for bringing dangerous drugs and weapons into our communities and to hold them accountable.

Mount Holly,
I want to share some pics and recognize the members of PBA Local 37 for organizing our first Touch-a-Truck event here in town on May 2, 2026.

This was a great day for our community, especially for the kids. They got to climb in trucks, check out the equipment, meet our officers, and spend time with the people who help serve this town in different ways.

As Chief, I am proud of our officers for putting this together and giving their own time to make it happen. These events take planning, effort, and people who genuinely care about giving back. Our officers already do a difficult job every day, and I am grateful that so many of them still choose to do more for the youth and families of Mount Holly.

And while this event was absolutely for the kids, I think it is fair to say a few of our officers may have enjoyed climbing in and around those trucks just as much as they did. We will call it “community engagement,” but some childhood dreams were clearly being lived out.

Touch-a-Truck is another example of the positive work our officers continue to do outside of their regular duties. It is about building relationships, creating good memories, and showing our young residents that we are here for them.

Thank you to our officers, our community partners, and every family who came out and supported the event.

The Mount Holly Township Police Department joins our community in mourning the loss of Councilman Lewis Brown Jr.

Mr. Brown was more than a public servant, he was a pillar of this community. His presence was felt not only in council chambers, and in our neighborhoods, but also in the lives of countless young people he mentored over the years. He had a unique ability to connect with people, to guide with both strength and compassion, and to leave a lasting impression on everyone he encountered.

From our perspective in law enforcement, we value individuals like Mr. Brown who help shape strong, respectful, and connected communities. His commitment to our youth and his steady leadership made a difference that will continue to be felt for generations.

On behalf of the Mount Holly Township Police Department, we extend our deepest condolences to the Brown family, his fellow council members, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Rest easy. Your legacy lives on in this community you helped build.

COMMUNITY UPDATE – TOUCH A TRUCK IS STILL ON!

While Mount Holly Fun Day at the park has been postponed, we’re excited to let everyone know that the Burlington County PBA Local #37 Touch-A-Truck event is still happening.

Saturday, May 2nd
11:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Municipal lots by Donkey’s Place Downtown

Bring the whole family out for a fun-filled day where you can get an up-close look at a wide variety of vehicles, including police cars, police boats, SWAT vehicles, fire trucks, construction equipment, and so much more. A hot air balloon will also be on site (weather and wind permitting), courtesy of Return Kindness.

There will also be community resources available from Virtua and Mount Holly Rehab, along with live music by soul singer Carie Cares and friends.

This is a great opportunity for kids and adults to explore, ask questions, and connect with your local first responders and community partners.

Last evening, officers from the Mount Holly Township Police Department responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Mount Holly Avenue and Ridgway Street, near the cemetery entrance.

Officers immediately secured the area, protected the scene, and began processing the location to ensure a thorough investigation could be conducted. Due to the location of the incident, the roadway was temporarily closed while officers documented the scene.

At the same time, a large school event was taking place nearby. Out of an abundance of caution, our School Resource Officers worked with school staff to implement appropriate safety measures. There was no known ongoing threat to students, staff, or attendees.

At this time, no injuries have been reported. Our detectives are working in conjunction with detectives from the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and follow up on leads.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.

We take pride in keeping our community informed. One of my priorities as Chief has been to communicate with our residents as soon as practicable when serious incidents occur. Those who follow our department know that transparency and timely communication are areas we have worked hard to remain consistent with.

We understand that incidents like this can cause concern and lead to speculation. We ask the community to allow our officers and detectives the opportunity to conduct a complete investigation before conclusions are drawn. We will continue to provide accurate updates as appropriate.

I had the privilege of hosting another successful Take Your Kid to Work Day yesterday.

The day started out with a great breakfast from Chick-fil-A, which was definitely a hit with the crew. From there, the kids jumped right into action, filling out their official “applications” to become officers for the day. I think we may have a few future recruits in the making.

They got to experience a K-9 demonstration, take a full tour of the station, and even spend some time outside enjoying the nice weather with chalk in our parking lot. To top it off, each child received their very own police baseball card to remember the day.

That said… I’m pretty sure their favorite part wasn’t the badge, the tour, or even the K-9, it was the special dumpling they got at the end in their bag of goodies. Hard to compete with that.

All in all, it was a great day filled with smiles, learning, and community.

A special thank you to my Administrative Assistant Christine Cain and SRO Craig Thompson, who planned the day and made this possible. We also appreciate the support from our partner agencies who helped make the day extra special for the kids: Mt. Holly Fire Department, America Emergency Squad, Mt. Holly Public Works Department, and the Burlington County Sheriff’s Department.
