Last week, the Food Bank of North Alabama completed our AIB food safety audits, achieving impressive scores of 960 at our Huntsville branch and 980 at our Shoals branch! 🎉

Conducted by AIB International, these audits are essential for maintaining high food safety standards. Assessing operational practices, food safety, cleaning procedures, pest management, and safety programs, FBNA has consistently scored above 900, reflecting our commitment to quality.

Ensuring food safety is central to our mission as we strive to support our neighbors in need. A big thank you to our amazing staff for making this achievement possible!

North Alabama made a big impact!📬 Thanks to our generous community, local letter carriers, volunteers, and post office teams, this year’s Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive collected 58,019 pounds of food.

Thank you to the National Association of Letter Carriers, the US Postal Service, our volunteers, staff, sponsors, and everyone who left food by their mailbox. Together, we are bringing hope and food to North Alabama.

Last Wednesday, our Development Director Bobby Bozeman and Agency Relations Director Amanda Carter attended the Alabama Update Luncheon with Governor Kay Ivey at the Von Braun Center, hosted by the Huntsville/Madison County Chamber.

As she concludes her final term, Governor Ivey reflected on her achievements and Alabama's challenges. We appreciate the opportunity to discuss important issues like hunger relief and family support in our 11-county area.

Last week, our CEO, Shirley Schofield, along with our Development Director, Bobby Bozeman, had the privilege of meeting with Congressman Dale Strong to discuss the growing issue of food insecurity across North Alabama.

We appreciate Congressman Strong meeting with us to discuss the challenges our communities face, including the Farm Bill, SNAP benefits, and food insecurity's impact on seniors, veterans, and working families. Conversations like these are crucial for ensuring everyone has access to the food they need.
