Grateful for the incredible teamwork that keeps our university community safe during winter weather. ❄️💙 From planning and preparation to around‑the‑clock coordination, it takes many dedicated partners to ensure UGA is ready for whatever the forecast brings.

A huge thank you to our partners with UGA’s Insurance & Claims Management for sourcing extra generators and heating devices for potential power outages. Your proactive support helps keep essential operations running smoothly and our campus protected.

Proud to work alongside such committed teams across the university. Together, we’re always prepared. 🐾

If it looks like the lower level of the Tate deck has turned into Lake Lanier 2.0… repeat after me: “My car is not a boat. I repeat, MY CAR is not a boat.”

Turn around, don't drown. Your car can't swim. Please stop trying.

🌪️ Tornado Safety (Roommate Survival Mode) 🌪️

Tornado warning goes off and suddenly your apartment looks like a deleted scene from a disaster movie. 🎬😳

Here’s how to not become a plot twist:
• Go to an interior bathroom, closet, or hallway 🚪
• Grab helmets, pillows, or that random decorative throw none of you bought 🪖🛏️🧺
• Avoid big open rooms like lobbies or gyms 🏟️❌
• Bring the roommate who sleeps through everything 😴➡️🏃 — they won’t make it without you

Dress code optional. Staying alive mandatory. 😌✔️

This is a test of the University of Georgia's emergency alert system for the UGA Athens campus. If this had been a real emergency, you would have received instructions on what action to take. In the event of an actual emergency, additional information may be found at https://emergency.uga.edu/ as it becomes available.

If you are participating in the statewide severe weather drill today, please move to your shelter location at this time. Once you have accounted for people in your area, please return to work or class. An all clear message will not be provided.

If you need to update your contact information log on to https://ugaalert.uga.edu. This is only a test.
