Our broilers are right on schedule! 🐔 We’re only raising around 50 this year, with a handful of spots still available for ordering. Our birds are pasture-raised and moved to fresh grass daily, and fed a Non-GMO broiler feed on a 12-on/12-off schedule for optimal health and growth. They are given herbs and spices as well as treats like watermelon 🍉

It’s been very busy here since spring arrived and calving season began but My all-in-one filling machine has finally arrived a few days ago ! After 2 months of waiting, it’s finally sitting in my space and I am BEAMING. 🥹 I honestly haven’t used it yet . You ever just buy something and just stare at it 😂 For a microdairy, this little machine is everything — a true space saver that fills any bag size with a simple plate swap, handles Stanpac half-gallon glass and full gallons too, just by removing the plate and placing a riser. It even has a specialized motor to accommodate filling yogurt with fruit and kefir. One machine. One investment. Zero debt. Now I just need a small air compressor which will arrive today and then I’ll update you on the “ well, was it worth it” ? 🥴 =

Do you really know what National Dairy Month means? When it first launched in 1937, it wasn’t called National Dairy Month at all — it was “National Milk Month,” and it ran from June 10 to July 10. More than a celebration, it was a rescue mission. Grocery organizations and the National Dairy Council created it in response to a very real crisis: as cows moved out to lush spring pastures, they hit peak milk production — and in 1937, the market simply couldn’t keep up. The surplus was overwhelming. To stabilize the industry and prevent massive waste, National Milk Month was launched to aggressively promote milk consumption and encourage households to use home refrigeration to keep it fresh through the hot summer months. It also coincidentally coincides with summer break for kids. By 1939, the campaign had grown into something bigger — expanding to the full month of June and rebranding as National Dairy Month to celebrate all dairy foods, from cream and butter to cheese and yogurt, while honoring the hard-working farm families behind them. Today, it’s a beautiful reminder of the deep history, seasonal rhythms, and everyday dedication it takes to bring fresh, high-quality dairy from the pasture to your table. The more you know 😊🥛💛🐄👩🏻‍🌾

Fun Facts: A farm is a broad term for any agricultural land cultivated to produce crops, livestock, or dairy. A ranch is a specialized type of farm dedicated primarily to raising, grazing livestock (like cattle or sheep) and requires open pasture. In short: all ranches are farms, but not all farms are ranches.👩🏻‍🌾
