Mount Pleasant Fire Department This is the official page of the Mount Pleasant Fire Department in South Carolina. Firefighters work twenty-four hour rotating shifts.

The Mount Pleasant Fire Department has provided fire suppression and emergency services since 1837. We have evolved from an organization focused solely on fire fighting to one that leads the way in first response to emergency incidents. The Mount Pleasant Fire Department is deeply involved in the community it serves. Today, the Fire Department is composed of 116 paid personnel augmented by 14 volu

nteers. The corporate area and its surroundings are served by seven strategically located fire stations. The Fire Department administrative office is located within the Town Municipal Complex.

Mount Pleasant Fire received a call just before 5 p.m. for a townhouse fire in Park West. Crews arrived on scene to find a two-story townhome with fire showing. Command declared the fire under control at 5:32 p.m. Crews remain on scene in the 3000 block of Queensgate Way.

Mount Pleasant Fire Station 5 Shift A and Charleston County EMS was recognized today by Medical University of South Carolina and the South Carolina Burn Center for the outstanding care crews provided to a pediatric burn patient.

It is great to see their efforts recognized and continues to show that Mount Pleasant Fire has some of the best firefighters around.

This past weekend, three of our members attended the “Support Company Operations” class in Fairfield County. This training is designed to teach the critical skills needed to support fire attack teams at structure fires.

The class focused on forcible entry, vertical ventilation, search and rescue, and victim removal.
