KU GEAR UP - Washington Cluster Washington Cluster GEAR UP will work with the Class of 2017 and 2018 at Arrowhead and Eisenhower Mid

This discretionary grant program is designed to increase the number of low-income students who are prepared to enter and succeed in postsecondary education. GEAR UP provides six-year grants to states and partnerships to provide services at high-poverty middle and high schools. GEAR UP grantees serve an entire cohort of students beginning no later than the seventh grade and follow the cohort throug

h high school. KU GEAR UP will provide the following services for students, parents, and school staff:
Financial Literacy/Saving for College
STEM Programming
Math Essential Skills based on Common Core Standards
Language Arts Essential Skills based on Common Core Standards
College and Career Readiness
Teacher Professional Development
Educational Field Trips
